Our family holiday

My wife and I had suffered a bad few years at the hands of the recession, but thankfully both of our businesses have started to take off this year. It meant that for the first time in a long time, we were able to book a family holiday over the summer. Naturally the kids were absolutely delighted at the prospect of going away for somewhere for a couple of weeks, and they both wanted to go somewhere abroad, which neither of them had done in the past, but my wife and I at the time were concerned that we wouldn’t be able to afford anything that actually took us to another country. I remember resignedly looking that night on the internet, more so that I could at least say that I had tried to find somewhere, but to my surprise, after an hour or two of searching, I managed to find somelovely looking Family holidays in France that we would be able to afford!
I have to say that it turned out to be one of the best holidays we have ever been on! The kids loved France, loved the food, and most of all loved the camp site that we stayed on, and it was so great for me and my wife to see the kids having such fun, when we had been so saddened that we hadn’t been able to treat them like this for so long. It was a wonderful time, and I’m sure we’ll be back there again soon!

I am pretty big on golf these days but the only problem I have with the game is that I don’t get to play enough! I am restricted to the weekends because of work, and even then, if it rains it is pretty much ruled out. My handicap would be much lower if I got the opportunity to play a bit more often, or that’s what I tell the guys at work anyway!
This year when my wife was discussing with me where we should go on holiday, I mentioned to her that I would like to go somewhere where I would be able to play a few rounds of golf. I knew that she wouldn’t mind this, because from what I could see, her and my daughter had no interest in anything other than sitting around a pool reading a book and getting as burnt as they possibly can!
We were trying to think of somewhere to go that would cater for both of us when I remembered a friend at work telling me about a golfing weekend he had been on to a place called Faro in Portugal My wife thought Portugal sounded very glamorous, so I decided to have a look at some prices on the internet. I came across some very reasonable flights to Faro right away, and I managed to find a nice four star resort with an outdoor pool which was only a couple of miles away from a local golf course! It was perfect for us and we booked the place on the spot!
